The SNOBs Dossier

The SNOBs are one of Ohio’s oldest homebrewing

clubs, dedicated to promoting the brewing and enjoyment of fine beers. Founded in 1990, the club meets once a month. In addition to monthly meetings, the club also sponsors special evenings at local brewpubs and restaurants called "SNOBs Night Out", a homebrew festival (Beer and No Sweat), a summer camping event (Brew and Canoe, in Huron), our annual Oktoberfest weekend festival in Medina, and an extravagant Christmas party. We also host (along with other local homebrew clubs) a First Round Regional for the National Homebrew Competition, sponsored by the American Homebrewers Association. Visitors are always welcome at our meetings, where they’ll find lively presentations on beer and brewing, great conversation, and answers to any brewing questions they might have.

We like to meet and drink beer.

The SNOBs meet the first Monday of each month

at Sachsenheim Hall on Denison Ave on Cleveland's West Side. Each meeting emphasizes a different aspect of beer or brewing, often with local professional brewers as guest speakers. The schedule of meetings and topics can be found on the Calendar page. At meetings, you'll get updates on upcoming events, tips on brewing, discussions of beer styles and answers to any brewing questions you might have. You can also drop off your entries in the monthly club competitions (two bottles, appropriately labeled). The schedule of competitions is also on the Calendar page. Of course, we encourage all SNOBs and visitors to our meetings to exercise self control and to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol.
