Welcome to the Society of Northeast Ohio Brewers

The SNOBs are one of Ohio's oldest homebrewing

clubs, dedicated to promoting the brewing and enjoyment of fine beers. Founded in 1990, the club meets the first Monday of each month a 7:30 PM at Sachsenheim Hall in Cleveland's West Side. In addition to monthly meetings, the club also sponsors special evenings at local brewpubs and restaurants (SNOBs Nights out), a spring pub crawl and homebrew festival (Beer and No Sweat), a summer camping event (Brew and Canoe, in Huron), our annual Oktoberfest weekend festival in Medina, and an extravagant Christmas party. We also host (along with other local homebrew clubs) a First Round Regional for the National Homebrew Competition, sponsored by the American Homebrewers Association. Visitors are always welcome at our meetings, where they’ll find lively presentations on beer and brewing, great conversation, and answers to any brewing questions they might have.

It was a great turnout in Westlake Ohio. Four days of judging some of the best homebrews to date. After the foam has cleared, we celebrated by having a stellar banquet with great food and great beers. Buckeye Brewing donated a keg of 76 IPA, Rocky River Brewing dontated their Kolsch, and The Brew Kettle dontated their Ring Neck Brewing Woody Lager. We drank, and drank some more. Congratulations to Alan Shubert for taking 1st place in Traditional Meads and Paul Shick for taking 1st place in Baltic Porters. Both entrants will move on to the second round. Nice job for representing the SNOBs!

A huge thank you goes out to all who volunteered, donated for the raffle, and who participated in making this event show up on the world map of homebrewing. "SNOBS IN DA HOUSE!"
